Why I built a photo studio for female business owners

When I first started shooting brand photography, I didn’t have a studio. I worked from wherever made sense. Whether it was a clients’ homes, coffee shops, rented apartments, sometimes a studio or even parks.

And while those spaces got the job done, something always felt a little off.

My clients; usually women running incredible businesses, often told me the same thing:

“I don’t feel like this space really reflects my brand.”
or
“I just want somewhere I can relax and not feel watched.”

That stuck with me. Because I believe your brand photos shouldn’t just look good, they should feel aligned, safe, and empowering to create.

So I started dreaming about something different. What if there was a dedicated photo studio for female business owners?

A space created with them in mind — not an intimidating white box or an echoey warehouse, but somewhere that feels calm, intentional, and elevated?

That idea became a mission. And in 2024, it became real.

Now, when clients walk into the studio, I watch their shoulders drop. There’s no awkwardness, no pressure. Just a space that supports them to show up with confidence, whether we’re shooting headshots, behind-the-scenes content, or polished lifestyle imagery.

The studio is designed to feel like a blend of editorial and approachable. It’s neutral enough to work with a range of brands but thoughtfully styled to give every photo that professional, magazine-quality edge.

And because it’s a photo studio for female business owners, I’ve thought about the little things:

Creating this space wasn’t just a business decision. It was a values-led one.
