Editorial Product Photography for Jewellery Brands

If your jewellery is beautifully made and thoughtfully sourced, your photos need to say that before a single caption does. This shoot with Jess from Aladdins Cave in Leeds was all about elevating antique pieces with an editorial feel so they look desirable, modern and investment worthy.

The brief

Create a set of images that work for website banners, Instagram carousels and paid ads. Keep it editorial and luxe. Show layered styling on a model, plus close ups that reveal craftsmanship. Subtly nod to sustainability without going boho.

The look

My studio is bright, neutral and clean, which lets gold tones and gemstones sing. We styled stacked necklaces, mixed metals and statement rings on a teen model for a fresh, wearable feel. Think magazine energy rather than catalogue. I added designer boxes and handbags in the background to hint at luxury without stealing focus.

Movement and B roll

While I photographed stills, I captured vertical B roll clips. Hand details. A clasp being fastened. Necklaces swaying as the model turns. These short clips become reel covers, ad motion and site micro video. No trends. No gimmicks. Just movement that sells the shine.

Story over stock

Great product photography for jewellery brands is more than a pretty picture. It tells a story your customer wants to join. Antique and vintage pieces already come with heritage. Our job is to frame that as a smart, sustainable luxury choice. Clean light. Confident styling. A touch of everyday life so pieces feel easy to wear.

Ads and CRO in mind

We shot compositions with negative space for headlines. Portrait crops for Stories. Landscape hero images for homepages. Tight macros for PDP galleries. Consistent backgrounds so collections feel cohesive across a range page. The result is a library you can repurpose for months.

What we used

  • Modelled stacks to show scale and styling ideas
  • Neutral sets so metal tones stay true
  • Simple props only when they earned their place
  • B roll captured alongside stills to maximise the session

Tips if you sell jewellery

  • Bring a mix of hero pieces and easy entry items so you can upsell in one image
  • Think outfits, not single pieces. Stacks convert
  • Keep the palette tight to your brand
  • Plan a few shots that say sustainable luxury without clichés
