A Real Example of Successful Video Content Days

When Esme came to the studio to record her online course, she booked two full days and came prepared. And that combination is exactly why it worked so well.

Across the two days, Esme recorded around 40 videos, each between three and ten minutes long. Because of how organised she was, we completed the core course content in about a day and a half, which left us time to film the extras that often get missed.

Create a script

Esme had a full script for every video, all loaded into the autocue. That meant no guessing what came next and no losing her train of thought halfway through a take. She’d also already delivered the course live several times, so she knew the structure inside out and had refined how she wanted each section to land.

Practice make perfect

She’d even practised with the autocue before arriving, which made her delivery feel calm and natural rather than stiff or overly rehearsed. That level of preparation removes so much pressure on the day and makes filming feel far more manageable.

Because the recording moved at a steady pace, we were able to use the remaining time to capture content that supports the launch. We recorded a promotional video designed to actually sell the course, filmed lots of b-roll, and took a few polished promo photos for her website and social media.

This is the part people often underestimate. A successful video content day isn’t just about getting the main videos done. It’s about leaving with everything you need to market the course without scrambling for content later.

To be honest, this is exactly how I design video content days to work. A calm studio setup, a clear plan, and enough time built in to create both the core content and the supporting pieces.

If you’re thinking about recording an online course, preparation isn’t about being perfect. It’s about giving yourself space to perform at your best and come away with content you actually feel confident using.
