Today’s real shoot has a bit of a twist. I’m joined by Holly Barras to talk about the shoot in her own words.

From all the shoots I’ve had over the years, the images from this shoot have never been more ‘me’, so what changed this time?

Shoots are always fun, so that wasn’t it.

Maryanne makes me feel really safe and comfortable–quick to tell me if something isn’t working or is not quite right; so it wasn’t that either.

She knows what I’m a bit self conscious about and always makes sure they’re never a blocker to getting great shots… not that either!

I reckon there were two major differences; both were down to me.

Firstly I came to the shoot knowing exactly what I was going to use the images for and the style I wanted (they had to be 100% me… no trying to replicate something else we’d seen, no not letting my full self out… just 100% unadulterated ‘Holly Barras’!), and 

I knew exactly who ‘me’ was.

Sounds weird, but go with me…At the beginning of this 2021, I took myself through the process that I take my clients through to get so clear about my brand, to unleash the real, true me. I ditched the crown, shifted my brand then hit the gas!

I came to the shoot being really steadfast in who I was, what I stood for, what my brand is about, a clear message that I’m putting out there without the need of having to ‘be’ someone else.

When Maryanne sent me the images, I was like Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey, I’ve never seen pics that are more ‘me’ in my life!

The photos absolutely visually represent my brand, brand message and me!
