10 Business books to read on lockdown

Hasn’t everything changed so much?

Two weeks ago I was facing the busiest time I have ever had in my business.

More shoots than I’ve ever booked in one month, lots of lovely ladies looking forward to next months VISIBILITY SCHOOL and not just one, but 3 BRANDING DAYS arranged and fully booked… not to mention 3 weddings in April (more in May).

and now…nothing…

It just shows that there really is something in this “passive income ” malarkey and diversifying. Luckily I can still do websites but the loss of all the work is painful.

Obviously I’ll be able to do the shoots at a later date but what on earth am I going to do now? Really….any ideas ???

I’m generally quite optimistic, but have to admit I’ve spent the last couple of weeks in a bit of a daze. So having a few books ready to inspire me has really helped.

The Middle Finger Project

I’ve followed Ash Ambirge for years and really love her blog and newsletter (definitely worth a read if you’re looking for a laugh), so this book came out at just the right time.

What would Boudicca do?

I love the historical elements of this book but have found it to be a little hard going in places. Let me know if you’ve read it.

Everything is Figureoutable

This ones been on my reading list for a while. Haven’t started it yet though, so I’ve included it but can’t really comment on whether it’s any good. I like her videos though and her energy is alway infectious so I’ll let you know how I get on.

Make yourself a little bit famous

The idea is that you don’t have to be ridiculously famous. You just need it a little bit…and this books shows you all the ways you can do it.

it’s easy to read (and I like Penny’s style of writing) and has some really great ideas.

Get Visible

Another good book, although I found the beginning a bit slow and repetitive. But once you get past the “back story” it’s got some really good ways to improve your visibility and get in front of the people who need to see you.

Start with Why

Really loved this book. It made absolute sense to work out why you’re doing what you’re doing. And why you should be sharing your “why”.

They ask, You Answer

if I could recommend you one book that you should read during these challenging times it would be this one. I was given this recommendation by Rachel Forcella while I was working with her last year on her Content Creation course (which I also recommend if you don’t know what content you should be creating). It changed how I blogged!

You are a badass at making money

I’ve read this book 3 times (possibly more) and even bought the kindle and audio book (her voice was a very soothing way to accompany me when I used to go running).

Its an excellent book, great for money mindset and motivation.

Just F*cking Do it

I found this book really easy to read and had some great tips for motivation and mindset. She makes sense without being too “woo woo” and there are some really good practical exercises too.

The Magic

I’ve included this book because I’ve only just bought it. I read The Secret a few years ago (and failed to actually work out what the secret actually was …anyone else?) but saw this book where it gives you practical tips for using the “secret” every day for 28 days. I’m on day four… the main gist of it seems to be “gratitude”…

Let me know what you’re reading over on Facebook!
